My name is Krystal, and I’m a stay at home[/work from home] mom to 4 wonderful kids. My oldest is almost 14 (I have raised him since he was 1), then there is another boy who is 10, and the last boy who is almost 7. We were finally blessed with a baby girl almost 4 yrs ago. She has kept me on my toes since day one. She was diagnosed with failure to thrive at 6 months old, and we learned of feeding issues a short time later. Since that time she has been in feeding therapy [among other types] to try to teach her how to eat/chew. Because her eating skills were not developed, and she wasn’t growing they decided she needed a feeding tube to help her get the nutrition she needed to stay healthy. So she had surgery to place a mini-button, g-tube into her stomach. Having a child with any type of special needs isn’t easy, but its harder when they can’t tell you why… We are getting through it though, because as a mom, that’s what you do, you do whatever it takes to make sure your babies are taken care of! I’m also the sole caretaker for my husband’s 94yr old great grandmother, [who lives with us]. She is completely bed ridden and relies on me for everything from feeding to bathing. To add to it all (as if that wasn’t enough lol), my kids are home-schooled and I work direct sales (Scentsy) from home, to try to bring in extra income, and try to alleviate some of the financial burden from my husband, who works so much I barely see him! It is hard at times, yes, but I wouldn’t change my crazy life for anything! I feel extremely blessed for everything I have, despite the hardships we face! Thank you for reading my story!Return to SuperMom Contestant page.
